Lyman School District

Here's what the upcoming week has in store for Lyman activities. Varsity boys and girls track will be in Onida on Monday April 15th. This meet was recently added due to weather cancellations. Our track team will also be in Wall on Friday April 19th. Our golf team is scheduled to be in Wessington Springs on Wednesday April 17th and Philip on Friday April 19th. State FFA will is April 18-20. Reminder there is no school for the kids on Thursday April 18th and Friday April 19th. Should be a great week of activities! Go Raiders!

Lots of fun was had in the elementary today! Our March Madness AR bracket winners enjoyed a pizza party for lunch and our 3R ticket winners got to snuggle Mrs. Smith's baby chicks!

Ladies and gentlemen, may we present…..THE PRESCHOOL ALPHABET PARADE!!!! These students have worked so hard all year long learning their letters. They had a blast dressing up today!

The kids sure enjoyed watching the eclipse this afternoon! The clouds parted just enough for us to view the spectacular event. Such a cool experience to share!

The Middle School Track meet scheduled for tomorrow in Gregory has been canceled! No middle school track meet tomorrow! Thank You!

The fifth grade class had an OUTSTANDING experience with their first transition day in Presho!! The Presho staff was very accommodating and the kids made us so proud! Huge shout out to everyone who helped organize this event, the kids LOVED it!! Very proud of all our Raiders today!

We are so fortunate with the paraprofessionals and librarians we have in Lyman! These people truly have hearts of gold. Thank you, Diane, Kim, Syndi, Lez, Julie, Tabatha, Shelly, Tammy, and Brenna! Our schools couldn't function without you!!!

Preschool had some sensory and fine motor fun today!! Happy Easter, Raider family! See ya Tuesday.

Save the date for preschool/kindergarten screenings! This is for all kids turning 4 or 5 by September 1st, even if they are currently enrolled in preschool. (Current kindergarteners do not need this screening again.) Please don't hesitate to ask questions!

Lyman MS/HS Spring concert is TOMORROW, March 27 at 2 p.m. STUDENTS: Please be in school dressed appropriately for a concert!

Due to the forecasted winter weather and the currently posted Blizzard Warning for the area, Lyman School District will be closed on Monday, March 25th.

Lyman will be the host for FFA District 8 Career Development Events on Wed., April 3. On that day over 400 students from approximately 15 other districts will descend on Presho for a day of competition . Due to this contest and the disruption it poses to the building in Presho, we WILL NOT have all MS and HS students on that day. Staff will assist with the FFA events. This Thursday, March 21st, we will celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Day in both Presho and Kennebec! Students may wear crazy socks and/or blue and yellow to celebrate. Help us show some love to our awesome little kiddos! #morealikethandifferent #downsyndromeawareness
