Lyman Elementary Announcements December 21st , 2020 Today we will dismiss at 12:30 for Christmas break. We will resume January 5th While we are on break the basketball game schedule is as follows- December 29th- girl’s varsity Huron Classic December 30th - girl’s and boys varsity games with Timber Lake in Presho starting at 1:00 January 2nd boy’s varsity in Sioux Falls at the Pentagon against Remsen St Mary’s at 10:00 Students please take home snow boots and snow pants and clean out your lockers. Due to the circumstances this year, we were unable to hold our traditional Winter Concerts. In lieu of a live performance, our staff and students have been hard at work preparing recordings of their pieces. These recording can be found in the link below. Note from LYMAN COUNTY TUMBLERS Facebook page: ( Official start date for gymnastics classes will be December 16th! Classes will be every other week/Wednesday from December through April. I will post the schedule in a separate post! *Tiny tots 3 yr olds- kindergarten run time will be from 5:30-6:15pm $10 per class (in attendance) *hot shots 1st- 5th grade run time will be from 6:30-7:30pm *15 per class (in attendance) *Masks will be required with understanding of the younger ones who are not in school but will still be enforced to all, parents included with the exception of newborns who come with their parent *this year due to covid if your child is not in the class at the time they will be required to be accompanied by their parent and sit the duration of the class they are not a part of...please parents help me keep running children to an absolute minimum! Social distancing while practicing will be enforced to the best of my abilities and if you child has a fever or cough they will be asked to leave (please check temperatures upon arrival to ensure everyone's safety) they are also available to do as they enter the KENNEBEC GYM located in the entryway I will be sanitizing equipment in between classes so please make sure to have child picked up or dropped off no longer or earlier then 5 minutes of their class! We will not be having a recital this year therefore having more time to fine tune skill! I'm excited to get back to my tumbling kiddos I've missed so much and to welcome many more to the group! Good Morning Raider Family, we had a special board meeting last night to discuss limiting gym attendance per SDHSAA recommendation. It was decided to adopt new wording to our Tier system (Which is in our covid response plan. The district will continue in Tier 1 for the time being. This is a Mask mandate in the gym with family seating. Students grades 6-12 can sit in the student section. Children/student ages birth to 5th grade are asked to sit with their parent/guardians (or who took them to game). The district also adopted the new DOH quarantine guidelines for their Covid Response plan. Update on Board Agenda for Monday Evening: There are some misperceptions currently on ticketing in the Lyman school. The district will be meeting Monday to discuss the system we will have in place for the upcoming sports seasons. Currently, there is a mask mandate in our gymnasium for events for the school. We will be discussing moving to tier 2. This would be a ticketing system with 4 tickets per athlete. We would allow students PK-12 into the facility as well. Children not school aged would be allowed in with parents without a ticket. More details to allow for maximum safe attendance will be discussed. Go Raiders!

Covid update: Hey all, I just wanted to update everyone on the current Covid situation in our school we are short a few staff for quarantine purposes and some students are gone currently. As of Friday we had 3 positive cases we were dealing with. Overall student to student and staff to student transmission remains low in our school. We want to thank everyone for the hard work in mitigating the spread of this virus. We appreciate all you do. Remember this is a short week. Tomorrow is the last day of in person classes until Tuesday December 1st. As always go Raiders!
